As presented by John Stolfo of Studio Aurora, an introduction to Steiner's life-work and the impact he had at the dawn of the 20th century. Spiritual Science, also known as Anthroposophy, continues to inspire countless initiatives worldwide in the fields of art and architecture, education, agriculture, medicine and care for those with special needs.

Anthroposophy, as described by Steiner, is a living process of enhanced cognitive and perceptual activity whereby an aspirant can inwardly transform one's soul. Initially, a method based on the organic laws of nature: polarity, metamorphosis and enhancement- these laws are cognitively applied through active will to realms of soul and spirit with the aim of evolving heightened individual freedom of spirit and purifying the astral organism. This genuine, emancipating experience leads to free initiative, goal oriented collaboration and a deepened sense of responsibility in finding creative solutions to social and environmental issues today.

Stolfo has worked meditatively and practically for 33 years with the inspirational content of Anthroposophy as an art professional, currently based in Wicker Park. In the artist's view, Steiner's aesthetics central to Anthroposophy offer solutions to the increasing social and environmental challenges of our time. Stolfo is active as a colleague in free association with individuals and institutions locally and nationwide.
